While being at home, I received a msg from milan that I have got selected in the campus placement for ramp services in Bangalore . I was so excited...made few calls to make sure I got..ha.haa….:)the main problem at that point was that I had no passport. The joining date was 17th, so left home soon. My plans to go to Bhubaneswar to make passport was shattered because of the telangana issue. The agitation led to a 3-days 'rail roko' due to which I had to go Hyderabad, thereby making it sure that I leave for Bangalore early. Things were packed, booked an auto paying a heavy price, and headed to the bus-stop...yeah bus-stop coz we weren’t able to book a train ticket due to the telengana agitation. shucks! Pranav had booked it for us in a benz. Huh! Spent enough and more to come. Something really bad happened that evening with me. I and milan was waiting for pranav and the bus which was scheduled to leave at 9:45pm. Two pick-up vans arrived to take us to the bus. Milan carried two baggage, kept it in one of the bus and told me to get in. I along with some more bags went inside the packed van. The van was about to leave when he signaled me that he's coming in the other van...The van left. I heard someone talking about the journey thing...damn! Came to know that the van was going somewhere else. I was in the wrong van. arrrgh...i asked the driver to leave me back there. He agreed, thank god. The driver left me at a junction. Unaware of the fact where I was, I called them….,calls after calls went on, but the communication was a mare's nest. Finally around 20min. Later I was able to get in...felt so relieved and also tired. Even the a/c could not soothe me.

Its early morning and we are in the 'silicon valley of India'. ..again had to reserve an auto paying a handful amount. The P.g is awesome….i mean its clean, also the with north indian food, t.v, geyser, and well furnished, it feels good. The only problem right now was---its too far from the international airport...around 56km...could you believe it??? I mean, we have to travel these distances every day. The next day was Sunday...slept for long time. The following day, we reported on time at Air India-SATS. The whole day went on documentation.

The interview day

22nd September'11- It was a big day for all of us as we all were eagerly waiting to get placed....and here it was. We had our campus interview today. I got up early..,daniel was the 1st one to bang the door, then came harsha and abdul. Damn..! harsha didn't complete his resume yet...asked me to get it from his mail & make few corrections to it, and guess where he went next???........to buy PEN..lol. I gave the final touch to his, pranav's and finally my resume. then made printouts, went for polishing shoe, but shucks, the cobbler wasn't there. After waiting for few more min. I went to the nearby hotel, where they all were having breakfast..i thought of skipping it...,we all sipped juice later while polishing shoes ourselves..thanks to harsha who had brought the much needed--liquid shoe polish. ohh yes, abdul did put on his new shoes today. i envy him;) We left for college. As we entered the vaughn block, we came to know that they were going to be late. Anup sir, Sharma sir and rajib sir were giving necessary last minute details and responding to sudden humongous number of questions from students...sir, what is...? sir, shall we shake hands at the beginning?,etc.,so very funny..lmao.

Finally they arrived...there were three guys from AI-SATS (Air India-Singapore airport terminal services), bangalore. We were sent to our classroom. Now there was a form filling procedure where we had to give our details and resume to be attached, also with a passport size photograph. Pranab cried--where is my resume? we went to a standstill...his face turned..ummm(din't notice the color :p) with rage. i checked every where twice, thrice, but it wasn't there..someone stole my form in the whole process, adding more tension. meanwhile, milan went outside and managed to get the printouts of pranab's resume. somehow i was able to fill my form at the last moment, submitted, and started chatting. The interviewers entered the room. Anup sir gave an apparently brief introduction about each one. There was a Singaporean, whose english was incomprehensible..must be because i was sitting at the last bench, also adding to his accent.

It was a roll number basis entry to the int. room. I was obviously nervous and repeating the sentences that i had prepared last night for "ABOUT YOURSELF", which was a known question to all. Everything was going quite well..they asked- where did u stay? to this, i gave a false reply (whatever name came to my mind at that time) coz i wasn't able to recall the place where i stayed at bangalore...but they just screwed me up at the last question. Basically, it was my fault..coz i had said that i was interested in cargo. They asked-why? there was a series of questions on it for the next few min. I somehow managed to answer it. The moment they said- you can leave, was bittersweet. I was happy to leave but sad coz i know i din't give my best.

It went well with milan and abdul. Milan was upset coz they didn't ask him what is his city of preference. After waiting till 6pm, they (interviewers) suddenly came out and announced that it was over, they have to leave to catch their flight. we were shocked to hear that..bcoz approx. 15 students were still not interviewed. The interview for those students were to be taken at the hyderabad airport. There was a bustle in the air as soon as they left.

We chatted for few more hours in our group. ohh, i didn't mention about our group, right? It consists of me , milan, abdul (MAK, as we call) then daniel and ravikiran. well, we have developed a beautiful bond of friendship during these 3 1/2 years in college.

I left for home for the dussehra holidays after few day...can't believe it was all over:)
I was preparing for my AIEEE….aspiring to get into some good engg. Inst…and then I met a student-look-alike- prof (pradeep)…one flash and v2 (I and Milan) landed at Hyderabad…had one hope in mind that this course(AM) is far better than engg…..
1st yr. worked out well…I was doing good at studies and managed to get a 4point GPA…as time passed , my hopes and marks dwindled…and now after 3 boring and disappointed filled yrs.., I have received almost 3-5% aviation knowledge…(thanks to anup sir).. now everything has changed to mugging business … I get calls from my school friends, who are excited as they are absorbed into some gr8 MNCs and this will continue next yr. as well…Now-a-days, I’m confused and think of the moment when we met that student-look-alike-prof…..repeatedly someone inside me asks- “whether u have taken the right decision?”

The only thing we can do at present is just….”HOPE!”
